I concur, but have to wonder why. Is it the clothes, the behavior, the colors that makes Octavia more “beautiful” and AJ “hotter” to us? Is it something obvious and dumb like hotness having warmer connotations, whereas beauty necessarily must be colder in the comparison?  
Or is that AJ’s hardworking, down-to-earth attitude is seen as more masculine, whereby AJ becomes less alien, less different from ourselves? But in return “becomes” more similar/familiar to us - and in turn, presumably more attainable. And on the other hand, do the traits we see in refined, demure and delicate Octavia seem more feminine, less like ourselves, whereby she becomes harder to understand and approach - therefore less attainable?  
Is attainability even the difference between hotness and beauty, whereby we associate (seeming) sexual attainability through sensuality with “hotness”? Do we consider the things that are eternally beyond our reach as more beautiful only because we never get close enough to see the thousand tiny flaws?  
Am I rambling, guys? Should I just shut up and leave such impractical problems as the nature of beauty to more qualified minds?

Artists are never required to use the same clothes for characters from their source anime, manga, and/or western animation, provided they are recognizable. They can can give them differently clothing if they wanted to, but unless they themselves stated so, it doesn’t mean they necessarily hate their default clothing.
