many pagan religions would plant a sapling on top of the graves of the dead. I wouldn’t be surprised if the zap apple orchard is the apple family graveyard.
Somehow.
Applejack’s Parents: Bodies in a wood chipper. Must give back to the land….
Where? I don’t see any deer.
The best part about this conversation is that I didn’t even go into the details of just HOW Cole’s parents died…
And if you haven’t seen Wild Force… you’re probably better off not knowing (though really, that particular scene is about as dark as the series got).
Christ almighty dude… This is beginning to make me think that suicidemouse.avi would pass as a cartoon to Disney. Since only in their eyes they see graves, guns, and skulls as no more than sunshine, rainbows, and ice cream. That is just so fucked up.
I know, it is kind of ironic, particularly since that scene I just mentioned seems like something Disney would have done at that particular time (Wild Force was 2002).
How does Disney get away with so many dark and hellish scenes and in their movies?!
And let’s not forget how in Power Rangers Wild Force, Cole’s parents were brutally murdered ON-SCREEN. They only got away with that because they told the execs at Fox that they would turn out to be alive at the end, and then “forgot” to tell the execs at Disney this when they were in the process of switching networks.
Dude.. some cartoons got away with the “dead parents” rumor being true. As dark as it may seem, it’s no lie. Nickelodeon had dark backstories in Hey Arnold and The Rugrats. Chuckie’s mother dying from a disease (Cancer?), and Arnold’s parents possibly dying in a plane crash (That’s what I thought for a while when I watched it). Cartoon Network got away with it too. In Courage The Cowardly Dog. Courage’s parents weren’t killed, they were sent to the moon in a rocket for some freaky experiment that an insane doctor thought of. As scary as that show is, it didn’t go that far as to simply killing them on screen. As for Disney? I’m surprised they didn’t have any reports of scarred children in the 90’s because they got away with EVERYTHING! On-screen deaths, disturbing images, even going as far as to mentioning the words “death”, “kill”, and even “hell”.
Pegasi bury their dead at sea. What you’re seeing here is the ‘Memorial Stone’, which is typically placed in each Pegasus Clan’s personal Memorial Yard. It’s modern utilitarian design is based on nearly five thousand years of cultural growth from interacting with earthbound creatures.
And yes, I have been preparing since the first episode to answer that question.
Why do you care?
but applejack’s parents are indeed dead.
The only pony with actual dead parents is Applejack, anyway.
