Description
The Behemoth Annihilative Sonic Sweep Cannon, or B.A.S.S. Cannon for short; is a prototype weapon designed by Vinyl Scratch and built by Applebloom.
It consists of three special speakers that generate almost 2000 decibels (dBA) of sound waves. The initial concept had the problem of the cannon being overly destructive, so the prototype model was fitted with a magnetic field generator. It generates a special field that twists the sound waves into a forward-facing spiral, making the cannon much more accurate. It also decreases or even eliminates all damage caused to unintended targets. But despite this, production was still shut down due to the high number of friendly fire incidents caused by the cannon.
Three energy cylinders on either side of the cannon power the device. The first one powers the sound system, the second powers the magnetic field generator, and the third powers the other more minor systems; such as the holographic scope and the cooling systems.
A disc must be inserted on the side to produce the noises. It is not recommended that one uses high quality discs, as they may end up with severe damage after several hours of use. The slot is adjustable, so is compatible with most disc sizes.
The holographic scope is actually a rewired camera. The camera head is located in the center of the cannon, so all one has to do is aim the crosshairs at the target. There is an alternate ion sight option, located just above the scope and marked out in bright orange.
Despite being an energy weapon, there’s still a tremendous amount of recoil that pushes it out of the ‘rifle’ section and into the ‘cannon’ area. The buttstock has a number of springs and gyroscopes to keep aim steady and for maximum recoil control.
The B.A.S.S. Cannon is useful for taking out enemies behind cover, as the sound waves pass almost directly through the cover if not completely destroys it with high vibrations. The Cannon is recommended for close quarters use only, as the radius of the sound waves increase after twenty meters or so. Ear pieces are required for the user as to protect him/her from excess sound waves that have the tendency to escape. The company behind its production hope to develop a more stable, safe, and reliable version some time in the future. But in the mean time, only Vinyl Scratch herself has been known to use the cannon without faults.

Yep. Most people don’t realize sound works on a logarithmic scale. A 50 dB sound is 10 times louder than a 40 dB sound, and 100 times louder than a 30 dB sound.
Even “just” 200 dB is enough to powder-ize bone and vaporize anything soft. 2000 dB would therefore be something like 10100 times more destructive.
