I rather love the way this comic captures the well-traveled steps of a family starting, growing, and then going to their natural conclusions, every step a new challenge with unexpected problems but with ever more rewards due to the effort. Adding to that the naivety of childhood combined with the struggles of parenthood and you get what is, perhaps, the best comic to have come out of the fandom because it transcends beyond merely being cute and actually uses it’s cuteness and characters in a meaningful, not gag-based way.

Yeah, the resolution is the same. There was a layer group I left turned off on the first release (Ink Well’s magic effects, specifically). I corrected that, as well as a small colouring error, for this release.

Sunset Shimmer’s mention has no real bearing on the planned story, it’s just there as a nod to canon. I planned out the basic story before we even knew about EqG, but it hasn’t caused any conflicts or forced a rewrite (if anything, Celestia’s recent failure can be used to make her more sympathetic).
