Thinking about, that sounds exactly how Pinkie would describe taxes. Also, the idea of her being the Sugarcube Corner’s accountant is hilarious and more than slightly terrifying. Headcanon accepted.

Pinkie Pie: I bear the Element of Laughter, which is an official government duty. Keeping my party skills up to date with the latest party cannon technology requires test ammunition, and my humor timing takes rehearsal.
 
Also occasionally ponies pay me to plan parties for them, which usually involve confetti, because really, what kind of party is it without confetti? I don’t know why they pay me, I’d do it for free, but somehow they don’t get mad when Rarity insists for me.
 
Then she always lectures me about not giving away the store, which confuses me a little because it’s the Cakes’ store, how could I give it away?
 
Oh! And I also use confetti to greet new arrivals to Ponyville and when I’m trying to make dragons laugh. Um… that doesn’t go so well. And I don’t get paid for it, so should I subtract that much for confetti? That doesn’t use up very much.
