I’d appreciate it if everyone wouldn’t turn the comment section into a debate, it’s very distracting from what should have just been about this cute picture of Scootaloo dreaming of flight.

Why is it so hard for many in the community to accept Scoots may have a disability and that’s ok?
Her having a disability is OK. Showing off potential solutions and not letting her so much as acknowledge their existence, not so much.
“You don’t need to be not-disabled to be special” is a fine moral in and of itself, but implying that feel-good platitudes are just as good as meaningful solutions is pretty patronizing.
Is it patronizing, really?
Or is it that you are just fixating on details that may or may not be addressed in the future but ultimately exist currently as what the writers intended for it to be as it stands?
Open ended, so fans like yourself can infer their own hypothesize and debate as we are currently doing, all be it somewhat flaccidly.
Because we all know about a decade from now there will be a All Grown Up style reunion special marking some arbitrary date or even flash backs in G5 itself showing Scoots with some contraption like you obsess over to placate the fans and to sell another plastic figure with new attachable accessories. The shear popularity of FIM demands it much like you demand and feel the show owes you resolutions to non existent problems stemming from a fixation that I nor any other person in the grater community probably wants to know the origin of.

faust thought so too but the writers retconned her to stay grounded for life
…and they were seriously limp-wristed about it:
“Fans are welcome to interpret things how they like”, he says. I interpret that to mean that they wanted to have it both ways - to keep scoring points for disability representation, but not disappoint the fans who were hopeful to see her fly after watching her struggle.

Stop dreaming and either look into whether there might exist some meaningful treatment for whatever’s keeping her from flying, or explore the wonderful world of aeronautical engineering.
Pity then the show has ended, whoops.
Too bad so sad never mind.
I can practically smell the Copium emanating from your comments.

Sure at some point the writers intended for her to be able to fly but what we have in hard cannon is that she can’t.
And that’s ok! In fact it aligns with the entire ethos of the show itself perfectly, but apparently not with many bronies who can’t accept something that may clash with their own fragile headcanons.
Get over it already! Not being able to fly is not Scoots defining characteristic anyway, if anything it builds character.
And if you still can’t cope with what is reality well that’s what fan art/fiction is for.

Scootaloo can flap herself along disturbingly fast, like a jet engine dragster. So the reverse should be true. Put her in a triangular winged device made of woven cellulose fibers and tree sap and she may break the sound barrier.
