My theory is that in the Poison Joke incident, Fluttershy ended up with more than a male voice. Rainbow woke her up to take her to the library, and a similar scene ended up with Rainbow totally embarrassed and Flutterguy mortified. This would be a callback to that moment.

Remember when Spongedbpb was watching a dancing anemone in the tv, gary arrives, he freaked up and change channels? well, HE WAS WATCHING PORN! and no kid get it while the adults lol.

As for why they put it in, I like to think of it as a tribute to the time where cartoons were more “free”.

The implications of this scene still perplex me.
 
This is clearly meant to be a shot at their constant nudity, and something for the adult viewers, but why? Why did they put it in? How did they even get it past the rating board? I know there’s nothing there, blah blah blah, but with how sensitive people are today and how this is obviously a nudity joke it makes me wonder how someone somewhere didn’t say anything.
