Thanks! Rather than having one species all act the same, I like to give them a few defining traits and then have them act in different ways that reflect it. Like, in my continuity there’s multiple different countries of ponies and they act very differently, like one is almost completely non-magical and entirely routed in technology, but still have the same basic problems as Equestria – like, rather than using magic and friendship to repel the Windigos they developed flame-based weaponry like flamethrowers and napalm :P

It sounds so varied. There is life to them and they all has their own interests. It fits to sphinx characters who either want to follow the traditional ways, trying something new, or just be inspired by ponies or other creatures and go in their footsteps. I almost forgot how many sphinxes you made, and i love how different they can be. It opens up the cates of what one specise can be, if you just add more creativity to it. I am open for everything you do with them. So just keep surprising us. ^^

Like @Background Pony #D175 said they tend to have servants. Their modus operandi as a species is to basically claim a territory as their own and declare themselves to be the lord of it and everything who lives there, and how they treat their “subjects” varies. Some are noble and benevolent and protect their “subjects” and are willingly worshiped for it like the ponies with Princess Celestia, some like Sphinxy take advantage of their “subjects” and demand tribute, and some do absolutely no “ruling” whatsoever and those living on “their” territory continue to just live as they always did. Then there’s the weird ones like Kit who travels the world as a doctor without borders, and Sourpuss who is obsessed with justice and serves as a lawyer who has only ever lost one case :P

The Sphinx is sort of an odd one out for her species. Most of her species don’t bother to have kids at all, while she’s had countless partners and children :P

I like the idea that she’s a decent person when she’s off the clock, so to speak. Even in canon she wasn’t a horribly evil person, for what little we saw of her; if nothing else she kept to her word and left fair and square when she lost. Like, nothing was stopping her from just stepping on Somnambula when she was “defeated” and continuing her reign of terror XD
