As a fan of the show, I also agree. The fandom does overreact.
I mean the original Star Trek only lasted three seasons, and 53 years, an animated series, several movies, and who-knows-how-many TV spinoffs later, its fanbase is still there.
So even after the series ends and most of the ones bitching and moaning and pissing and complaining and getting butthurt go away, there will still be a lot of people who like the show for what it was.
I trust Princess Twilight will be wonderful too.
You’re entitled to your opinion. Most people accepted it. There are those that didn’t, and they have their reasons, as I’m sure you have as well.
The point is, you have to see the episode first before you critique it. Based off the description, there’s no way to tell how it’s going to all go down. At least watch it first, and then form your opinion. I think at the very least, we owe the writers and animators that much for all their hard work in the past.
Trying too hard, tbh.
Speak for yourself, the wedding STILL sucks.
Yes, a diamond in the sludge-filled trough of garbage. You’re my new favorite person.
Logic and reason? On the Internet? Madness!
P.S. Fully approve of this post.
THIS.
Keep in mind that this show is FIRST and FOREMOST directed towards young girls, and as such, some story ideas are going to sound absolutely STUPID on paper to anyone who isn’t in that age group. The execution of these stories, however, is what continues to put this show far above the rest, and as such, you really can’t judge it until you see the episode on its own merit.
I mean, come on. A story about a talking purple unicorn that learns the “Magic of Friendship” sounds stupid as all hell, but the show itself is entertaining. A Royal Wedding between a previously unknown princess and a brother that never existed until that very day sounds ridiculous, and yet they pulled it off in a way that everyone was able to accept, and even enjoy.
Therefore, wait to see what happens with Alicorn Princess Twilight before you go into a hissy fit. You might find that it all makes sense, much to your surprise.
I think you grossly overestimate the benefits of the Princess status outside formal.
First, Twilie is already a bit OP. Second, all Mane6 have their OP moments. Third, they aren’t the only OP bitches in the setting. Fourth, Twilight isn’t reaching Celestia/Luna power level just by getting wings. The new status may open new possibilities, but it doesn’t make her a goddess off the bat.
Besides, even the goddesses can get their cutiemarks handed to them.
My typo. *a unicorn
It IS. We’re talking about a slice of life featuring 2 pegasi, 2 earth ponies, a pegasus… and Dr. Manhattan.
Of course, knowing my luck…
Ha ha, Derpy references.
I would but I can’t find her anywhere.
LET THEM HATE.
But getting worked up over this? Take a deep breath and go clop to your waifu.
