Huh, so they claim you ignored their counter argument- a set of incidents that either occurred once in the case of specific incidences, or became less frequent over time in general cases, both of which most definitely constitute progress- & they proceed to do the same to yours. Btw, once Discord freed & assembled the 4 past villains, any argument that Starlight was bad as he was went out the window.

I really like Sunset’s design.

I would prefer only Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer as alicorn princesses. One is the ruling Princess of Equestria in the Pony World, the other is the head Principal of Canterlot High School in the Human World.
 
Meanwhile, Starlight Glimmer would remain the unicorn Headmare of the School of Friendship in Ponyville.

The pony who one claims to have never learned their lesson, was entrusted to run a school by the beloved ruler of a nation. And apparently the school’s been thriving just fine for years. Said ruler of the nation even encourages her personal student to visit the school.
 
So…I think the claim is either not accurate, or the claimant has a too strict and narrow a definition of learning, nor do they have tolerance for “failures.”
 
I know an ex-addict cousin, They regularly relapses into old habit, but if you see the overall progress, they have improved both in health and social life.
 
Imagine if you lose 20 pounds over two years year but someone tells you that you haven’t been losing weight because they know you regularly fail workout sessions or that you sometimes gain back the pounds you lose.
 
Imagine if one to deny climate change just because winter is still cold every year, that’d be silly.

When I drop the “I’m going to stop replying” bomb I will typically just unsubscribe to the page with the argument so I don’t even read the retort as if I read it and reply after saying I wouldn’t would kind of make me look like a fool.

I don’t know what kind of clown world you are living in but, you just listed what she did wrong in the past, that’s not an actual counter argument to this, at all. especially half of those are what she did when she was an antagonist or when she was new to the whole friendship thing you know, when she tried to learn not to be a dick? and it’s kind of funny that you mentioned about her banishing Discord with her magic because that actually shows her progression:even though, banishing him was a justified action, she regretted her action immediately and even apologized to Discord which was absolutely unnecessary. and in this finale, she made a self sacrifice just to save the school and students which is her responsibility now. and in the past, she just irresponsibly ran away from her town, ignored the dinner with a princess to hang out with Trixie. and you’re saying that she didn’t learn from her mistakes and unironically thinking that listing her past deeds is some kind of masterful argument. right… if you’re unable to seeing her progression, like unironically. I can’t really help you so I’ll stop arguing.

Lol how did she learn from her mistakes?  
Failed first attempt at redemption. Resorted to screwing with time and space almost turning Equestria into a desolate wasteland just for revenge. Check.  
Always tried resolving things with magic. Check.  
Used a mind control spell against ponies trying to be her friends. Check.  
Used magic to banish Discord, proving him right that she’s just as bad as he is. Check.
 
And the list goes on.
 
At least Twilight does not commit evil. She shouldn’t have been made an Alicorn either, but hell she deserved it more than Starlight ever could. Any of the other mane 5 deserve it more than her. Derpy deserved it more!
