Damn, Sombra… You must eat a lot of “creepypasta” to gain powers of fear to scare Pinkie. She usually “giggles at the ghosties” but she can’t laugh at pure nightmare fuel.

Sombra could cripple the rest of the Mane Six with their worst fears, but I don’t think he could flip their personalities like Discord did. Breaking his spell is too easy with other ponies around.
 
Sombra didn’t have any minions. Might have been cool if he had or could make thralls from ponies he’s hit with his fear or forgetfulness powers.

Discord was at once not as bad and worse. He was a living Chaos God that could rewrite reality at a whim. But he got bored with you after he was done ruining you. Sombra enslaved and crushed ponies into being his slaves.
 
Though I guess you’d never have to worry about Sombra thinking it’d be funny if your blood got turned to melted cheese.

No, Discord used psychological warfare and chaos-god mindrape to make Pinkie betray everything she held dear and become the antithesis of Laughter. Here, Sombra’s reducing her to a weeping husk through sheer exposure to her deepest fears and insecurities. Relatively subtle distinction, but an important one.
