This. I’m still stubbornly holding onto my head canon that she knows how to speak, she just cant, and that’s why she’s in the sanctuary.
Not being able to speak doesn’t mean you’re less sentient. I don’t think you mean “sentient”, I’m pretty sure it’s “sapient”.

Wouldn’t surprise me if people already ’shipped ’em.
Giraffes are even-toed ungulates, and more closely related to cattle than horses. Of course, we also have sapient cows, yaks, buffalo, and deer, so it’s all very inconsistent.
Would David Attenborough be available to present a documentary on the fauna of Equestria to settle these questions?

Maybe the admins don’t wanna bother with a minor detail like that, or maybe they prefer the fanon name.
I dunno, I kinda like how “Clementine” kinda breaks that cliché of animal characters always have names like, “Gina Giraffe,” “Carl Cat,” “Sally Squirrel,” or “Dawgie Dog.”
G.M. Berrow has already publicly said that her name for the giraffe is Clementine; she said that months (years?) ago.
I guess they can’t for spoiler reasons.
We’re still waiting for a mod to switch “Clementine” and “Gina” around in aliases.
Admittedly, when I first saw a pic of “Clementine” years ago, I was kinda hoping she could talk.
Also, oddly, I can’t add a “Clementine” tag, and if you even search for “Clementine” on the site, it instead redirects you to “Gina,” which is apparently a fanon nickname for the giraffe I never heard of before.
I think I prefer “Clementine.”

They are practically elongated versions of them.
your current filter.Yeah, or if it was two speaking characters, they’d just have the opposite voice come out of each character, which always seemed strange to me. I like how they did it here instead.
The episode actually fleshes out Angel’s character more.
Every other cartoon would make the voice the EXACT same as before. Not that I mind, I just like this attention to detail…… or I could just be looking too deep into it. lol.
