But when the artist chooses to remain anonymous, there’s nothing really separating them from the dozens of other anonymous artists.

there are images with all of those tags not made by this guy and some of those other images i would actually like, which is something i don’t want a filter, complex or not, to do.

Complex filters work identically to the search engine with each line ||‘d together
 
To filter out things like this, try adding this to your the Complex Hide section of your filter:
 
screencap, edit, diaper, caption
 
Basically imagine that each line of your Complex Hide filter is a different search and anything that shows up in the search results is hidden.
 
I would suggest adding !uploader:Background Pony #* to that, but apparently the search engine isn’t able to account for that, and only seems to work with actual user names.

You probably could filter out edited screencaps referencing diapers uploaded by background ponies. I’m not sure exactly how to do it, but you could probably ask on the forums how to

well i can’t figure out, even with complex filters, how to filter out screencaps with this guy editing in text about diapers, and only images by this guy.

It allows you to filter out specific combinations of tags. For example, let’s say you want images of the twins, but not images of both. With complex filters, you can hide images that have both of the twins, but not those which only have one

You should be able to filter certain tags that you don’t want to see. Or you could simply use the safe filter.
