I was gonna make a sketchdump but I got tired and lazy so XD

A few of you probably already know Cloudy Quartz, Marble Pie and High Winds’ son, so I figured I should probably write a few notes about MarbleWinds, their relationship and all, and sketch a few things.

The sketches above refer to these two notes in particular:

1- As much as Cloudy Quartz can walk on clouds for having pegasus DNA, Marble can’t, so they could not move to Cloudsdale. Marble and her son live in a cottage around ponyville, living on their own. It feels a bit lonely to stay inside all day so Marble likes to take her son on picnics and walks on the park to keep their routine from being monotone and boring. Although he misses his momma Windy, Cloudy adores spending the day with Marble and likes to chat and talk to her about anything and everything. Mommy Marble is a really good listener!

2- “Mommy! Mommy! Look! It’s Mama!”

Cloudy Quartz is his momma’s number one fan. He and Marble never miss a show, even if it’s just watching it on the TV when they can’t make it to the real thing.

Anyways, here’s some other notes on their relationship~

As much as High Winds is constantly busy with her job, she always makes time to fly home and spend as much time as she can with her family. Every minute spent with Marble and their son is extremely precious, but that usually ends up with Winds arriving home immensely tired exausted, not being able to do much with her family without falling asleep in the middle of it (although once in a while she is able to make it to a bedtime story). She always wakes up the next morning realizing she fell asleep again and apologizes endlessly to Marble and Cloudy. They don’t mind and understand she’s trying her best.
Marble technically owns a VIP seat to every Wonderbolt event due to being a family member to one of the fliers, but she always would rather buy herself a normal ticket and go to the shows as any other pony. She not only doesn’t like the attention of being treated as a Wonderbolt’s wife as she also doesn’t like feeling like she’s taking advantage of High Winds’ fame. Marble came from a very simple family and ponies frequently think she was after High Winds’ wealth and status.

-HC: same sex couples hardly have many children, unless they’re very close to a really talented unicorn, since it takes a lot of magic skills whether if it is to simply change one’s gender or magically generate a child. A magically produced pregnancy is still a very draining and tiring process for not being a natural event.
Although Marble and High Winds did want to have more kids of their own, Winds was in a very important part of her career so she could not get pregnant at the time, and since Marble was extremely drained, overworked and sick during Cloudy’s pregnancy, they we’re a bit reluctant to try for another kid. But on the other hand, Cloudy is spoiled rotten by everyone in the family.

These are the notes regarding the beginning of their relationship and Marble’s family (maybe I’ll sketch a few of these in the future)

Marble’s parents are extremely conservative and her was father extremely against her relationship with High Winds. He would absolutely not accept his daughter that was always so quiet, well behaved and obedient being involved in an homosexual relationship.

-High Winds was willing to sacrifice anything and everything to demonstrate she was serious about her relationship with Marble Pie, she would even quit her job as a Wonderbolt and work at the farm if necessary, but in the end, it was Marble that, for the first time, stood up for them and for herself and went against her father. Igneous found Marble’s atitude outrageous and threatened to kick Marble out. And she eventually left.

-Marble left home, but since she couldn’t exactly live with High Winds in Cloudsdale, Winds offered to rent a place or even buy a house for them to stay in ponyville, but Marble totally didn’t accept. She didn’t want to be sustained by High Winds and make her pay for everything, so for quite a while she stayed at Sugar Cube Corner with Pinkie and her family and worked there, since she didn’t want to feel like a burden, even though it was her sister’s home.
Igneous Rock dies before High Winds and Marble could even marry, even if he was alive, he wouldn’t have attended to their wedding.

~~HC: Cloudy Quartz (the Pie sisters’ mother) is lesbian, but never had the chance to ever date a mare and explore her sexuality since she was born in a very strict and conservative family, and was later paired up with Igneous Rock plainly because of her family’s traditions to be united with someone by the “pairing stone”.

~~ Cloudy Quartz II (their son) was named after Marble’s mother as some sort of tribute, because even though her father was so against her relationship, her mother was always by her side in every way she could (during the time Marble was kicked out of home, Cloudy would often “sneak” out to check on her). In the end, Cloudy knew the feeling of having her feelings being restrained by her family’s traditions or strict beliefs, so she was always very supportive of her children.
