How could you know that? It comes out tomorrow. Don’t wanna be a jerk just…not really sure how you could know that. Even if it is true there’s still issue 78 as well. And I’m still very sure Shining Armor isn’t going to even make an appearance (again!) to help his wife or even be with her when she’s in danger. Just…really miss Shining and Cadance spending any time together at all on panel, they seem to completely ignore each other.

So? That just makes it even more icky then it already is. Shining hasn’t had I think like a scene where Cadance so much as shows him affection since neigh anything. And he’ll not appear in this arc, not to mention he’ll probably never appear again since the comic writers really don’t like him, so the last ship tease Cadance is ever gonna get is gonna be with Discord while her own husband gets totally forgotten.

The comic didn’t need to have all four princesses macking on Discord, that’s there just as shipbait for fans, and Sugar Belle and Shiny are the two who are gonna suffer for it and the comic probably isn’t even going to have the decency to show us them.
 
Harems are like literally part of the bargain bin fanfiction tropes, it’s one of those lowest common denominator plot lines ‘but what if plot stuff happened and now all the girls loved him?’ Is stuff I’m sad to see is now canon. The least I’d hope for at this stage is a ending which at least acknowledges Sugar and Shiny, but more likely no-one’s even gonna mention them and the whole thing’ll just end with all the Princesses glomping Discord and thanking him for being their hero and saving them. Blegh.

That isn’t really fair. There is no denying that IDW is playing the Princesses as Discord’s harem as a gag for a reason, they wouldn’t have put an entire scene in their of Celestia, Luna and Twilight fawning over him if they didn’t realize the implications. Further, I’d note, that one of the problems with this is that when Cadance is brought into it, as she almost certainly will be, it will move right past the creepy themes it already implies and straight into a married woman being compelled to love someone other than her husband. Unfortunately since Shining Armor very rarely appears alongside Cadance in the comics anymore we will most likely spend this arc with Cadance acting as if she is some sort of love maniac for Discord without Shining being mentioned or appearing, or Cadance even thinking or interacting with him, once. There’s no denying that part of the gag here is ‘lol, the princesses love Discord’ since the comic actively plays it for a joke. You can just look on tumblr and the MLP wiki to see this is how its taken by many as well.

I do have to admit, personally, I’m not fond of a lot of this. I don’t mind Cosmos as a villain, though I think ‘crazy ex’ is a bit staid and not very interesting. But the fact that the arc is purposefully employing plot devices just to do ship tease of Discord with all four Princesses is annoying and denigrating. I am particularly uncomfortable with, as it seems will happen, next issue is going to reduce Cadance, a married Mare with a daughter, to the same role of Discord fangirl, when she hasn’t even had any romantic or affectionate interaction with her own husband since 2013 in the comics. It will be very depressing if we literally end up that the last time IDW ever gives Cadance any romance or ship teasing if with Discord and not Shining Armour.

There is the fact that cosmos makes me feel insanely uncomfortable to the point where I’ll probably get swat armor, alot of guns and deadly traps set around my house then literally cower in the corner of my bedroom.

This is literally the opposite of a Harem. You have a female maniac torturing and abusing Discord. His only real harem is a single Fluttershy who isn’t even officially his girlfriend. You are getting upset over nothing.
