Thank you so much for The Shadow Shard. :) Will never forget this amazing story :’3
She’s a single mom.
I wish Derpi had an upvote comment feature.
Spike also teared up after Twlight scolded him in Owls well the ends well, after he misinterpreted her words to mean that she no longer loves him.
Personally, I don’t think there’s really a dynamic that their relationship fits under, you look at how they act towards each other and speak to one another, and while there’s a definite familial bond there, they’re both giving off different signals.
They both acknowledge how the other feels toward them, but don’t insist the other plays along, giving rise to a very unique dynamic.
I’m glad to hear it was engaging read! And I’m glad I was able to finish it :)
Dsana, thank you for your excellent story. This could have easily been a script for a fantastic mlp movie, or a comic anthology. I hope you realize that no one here really dislikes your comic, just the topics about Spike and Twilight that it raises. People do get upset when their perception of a character is challenged, but at the same time they wouldn’t be reading if the story wasn’t engaging. Good work!
He also:
Him wanting to be part of childhood sibling group doesn’t make their relationship is just sibling-sibling relationship. But because they do often act like siblings and she was young when he was born (how young depends on who you ask), it is obviously not just a parent-child relationship either.
I always found T&S’s bond so interesting and inspiring because of its complexity and this is why TSS ends the way it does, with them resolving an old issue but returning to the status quo.
I was always suprised how people insists it must be just one thing only and it can’t be the other one iny any measure. Some of you being very angry and anxious about the idea that relationships can be simply complicated, especially a fantasy one. Now with two episodes showing this bond from two angles the answer is simply “both” as it always should be. And the show creators seem to agree this is the case, after couple of folks, me included, asked about it.
Well, that’s all from me. This topic is truly over. I’m working on a new story and I hope some of you will enjoy it.

Um… Sorry if my reply was somehow breaking a rule? I kinda thought attempting to end things with assurances that both parties could be mutually assured of the others wrongness wasn’t too bad. Again, sorry.
How?
@Background Pony #F312
They’re right, though. Quit it.
You can’t just assume that you’re right. It’s not my responsibility to agree with you.
Indeed. What was I expecting?
Me: “You’re wrong, admit it!”
You: “Oh, yeah, you’re right.”
It’s your own fault.
@Background Pony #86FA
No, you’re right. I am getting way too caught up in arguing with the king of ducks. Bleh.
We were discussing one of my comments. I don’t think the forum is good for thjhat sort of thing,. Also, you’re not a mod.
Yeah. It might be a good idea to cool things down a bit.
@Ihhh
Guys, just drop it off for god’s sake! There are forums to discuss these things, and I’m not sure how dsana feels about this conversation in her pic.
Not what I said. I proved a single statement of theirs wrong, I never claimed to have proved their entire comment wrong. Stop putting words in my mouth, and stop taking what I say out of context.
That is all irrelevant. It doesn’t change the fact that the statement I disproved is false. I am not discussing their relationship, all I did was disprove a single statement that someone made. Why are you getting so bent out of shape? It wasn’t even your own comment.
Those are synonyms, heck, they’re different forms of the same word. Also, how am I being picky? I never claimed that said statement being false disproves their entire argument. I never even spoke on the subject. My comment was solely directed at that one sentence. Why is that so hard for you to understand?
Edited
You ‘proved them wrong’ with a statement you acknowledge is not proof of anything. QED you proved nothing.
Smolder: Uh… it must be hard growing up not really knowing who you are.
Spike: That’s the thing. I know exactly who I am. And how I got that way.
Twilight Sparkle: I have to say, I’m not surprised. There’s no way a dragon like that was related to you. But if you still want to search for your real family, I’d understand if you spent more time in the Dragon Lands.
Spike: I don’t think so. I already know who my real family is.
Twilight Sparkle: Aww! It’s me, right?
These two exchanges say a hell of a lot more than one sleepy comment about how she wasn’t the mother he was dreaming of when she woke him up.
And, if we’re going to be ultimately picky… “The show did not say she’s “not” a mother.”
Spike never said mother, or mom, he said mommy. So, in fact, the show never said she was not a mother. Even just by wording, you proved squat.
I never said it was proof of anything. Quit putting words in my mouth. All I did was disprove a single statement, nothing more. I don’t write between the lines.
No, you provided one out of context statement and called it proof of something. He could have just as easily said “Yes mom” sarcastically and it would have amounted to the same thing.
That is irrelevant. #A726 stated something that was false, and I proved them wrong.
