Do they hire demons for the EAS in Texas?

While I’ve heard some fans say that they want a new theme song for the final season, I don’t think that’s quite what they meant.

It’s been years since I’ve had to stream MLP - the Hub was added to my cable lineup just before the season 2 finale - so I honestly didn’t know about this until I saw a brief mention of it on an MLP Discord server, haha

Sounds like the audio for the stream was pitched down (likely to avoid copyright issues). Normally, EAS alerts sound more normal, like this.

The distorted voice is definitely not what we usually have. It’s got to be a misconfiguration of the station’s equipment that receives and injects these messages into the feed.

This was kinda weird. At least for me. The first time I’ve heard something like that (I don’t think we have such a warning system in my country). I get why this system exists but if it’s so important why do they use a distorted voice that’s difficult to understand and sounds like a hacker trying to blackmail you? Seems kinda counter-intuitive. Wouldn’t it make more sense to make sure people understand the message and stay calm?
 
Maybe it’s just a glitch but if I would hear this while watching TV it would probably freak me out and make me turn it off instead of listening to it. Though then again it wouldn’t really matter anyway because I wouldn’t be able to understand anything.
