Well looks like everyone was right, turns out Grogar was gonna be the final villain on the show. Guess I gotta watch the original MLPs to see who this guy was

Well, first conquer, then sacrifice the population, his plans did not go any further yet. But it couldn’t be ruled out.

Well, if you ask me personally: nothing. But in the memory of others he seems a little more capable for typical villains. Personally, I don’t see it that way.
 
In “The Return of Tambelon” Grogar returns to Ponyland after 500 years at the head of an army and a quasi phased out city called Tambelon and gradually catches all the ponies, the befriended species and the three human children that existed there at that time. He wanted to sacrifice them to the forces of evil and banish them all to the realm of darkness, but by chance and betrayal of his own troops all can escape in time and Grogar disappears with Tambelon for another 500 years.
 
Sounds cooler than it actually is. Although Grogar is competent and gloomy, his typical 80s appearance reminds me more of a He-Man Skeletor (with deeper voice) than of a really serious villain. Nevertheless, I find the four episodes very charming. You can look at them, if you don’t apply very strict guidelines.

Honestly the only real difference (beyond the transition into the show’s style) are the Mohawk and the more subdued red of his eyes.

I think somebody’s been scoping fanart~…

I love this guy. I really like smart villains, and the idea of villains trying to co-opt friendship for their own purposes makes a lot of sense in the show’s world. And there are definitely worse choices for a legendary precursor villain that even the other bad guys fear – and he’s definitely smart and powerful enough to have earned that title.
 
Plus, you have to admit that he’s got great taste in interior decorations.  
 
I mean, just look at that.

Seems pretty obvious. And if you consider that G1 Grogar is still regarded as one of the darkest villains in MLP’s history, this is quite understandable.

So is this it? Is Grogar gonna be the final boss of FiM?
