yeah I never really understood why it became a thing? I guess it was just an idea someone had that everyone latched on to. But I never saw Derpy as being a mother really. not from what we’ve seen of her anyway.

I like the headcanon that Dinky is Derpy’s little sister. It’s not really one I subscribe to but it’s a nice change of pace from her being her daughter.
