Description
In the militarized and imperial society of Nightmare Moon’s Equestria, her words were heeded and the plan went off the next month without a hitch with minimal casualties. In the canon Equestria, however… Yeah.

just make a version of the mg42 but it uses cristals and magic to shoot 1200 rounds of magic bolts per minute or sum shit
also flak 88s
Yeah, I suppose. Though, I doubt the fantasy pony world SK would have the same weapons as 1944 Germany.
So it’s really more of a “with minimal casualties, all things considered” than a “with minimal casualties”?
Paratroopers are going in to destroy their ability to effectively manage their logistics and to prevent quick transport of reinforcements.
And… Yeah, it’s a naval invasion, nobody expected it to be pretty.
yea i see
thought it would be also usefull to destroy their logistic and reinforcements
also, welcome to storm king’s realm?
It’s modelled after Operation Overlord in which (to my understanding) the paratroopers went in beforehand to fuck with the defenders ability to defend.
Did you have 40 width marine divisions? With support artillery? Oh, and did you try to rush the capital or nah
The planes/ships are meant to be targeting bunkers, inland buildings and coastal defences while the paratroopers are meant to conduct more precise sabotage and secure crucial junctions and chokepoints, all in order to make way for the larger landings. Air bombardment is referring to bombing runs and CAS, which I know isn’t a terribly accurate use of the terminology.
@Kamazeustra
If you’re asking about why the whole coast is being attacked instead of just one point, that’s to distract and confuse the defender as to where the actual location of the attack is.
I’d have put all this into the image but there’s only so much I can add before it all looks cluttered. I’ll be happy to answer any more questions about my fictional invasion plan.
Be that as it may be, I don’t know if doing a bombing run over the exact same area where you’re putting your troops is a very sound combined arms offensive.
I am well aware of what it is. And of why you don’t stack resources on the same point at the same time. The paratroopers go in the night before and well back from the beach. The bombers and transports aren’t supposed to share the beach.
It’s called a combined arms offensive, my dude.
None of the sites are marked for both paratroopers and bombers.
Just make sure to take the naval bases to supply the Equestrian troops. Oh, and just make sure they’re all 40 width, yeah?
