I like Glim-Glam and Nyx both but I laughed out loud anyway. (Actually I also like cycling, although I’m rather more distant from the kind of obsessive bike nut I assume the original was lampooning.)

Comparing official character which is hated by everybody and ruined EVERYTHING it touched only to turn to furniture after the full season of forcing and OC which formed it’s own fan-base says a lot.

Are you high? Glim is the bogstandard ‘Villian who got redeemed by Friendship’ thing that MLP does. Kinda its whole arc, from the first two episodes.
 
Meanwhile Nyx is…a relic of the early days of the fandom when people were more lax with their writing standards.

It was perfectly dead after the 4th season. Dead must be buried. If you don’t understand why it’s not my problem. Not only because of HiMMler but she was one of the important killing tools. The main problem of MLP after 4th season that it turned to typical cartoon show like “group of heroes fights villians” but was never developed for that. Characters has strange unrelated to them quests like “Pinkie and RD save Griffins’ kingdom by sharing coockies”. Who wrote this?? This just don’t work. In fact many fandoms like “Chip and Dale RR” were saved just because the show has ended before it turned to zombie and fandom was splitted to groups which hate each other. Something that you can not deny happened with MLP.
 
4 Zombie seasons that gave to show literally nothing. OK just 1 season more I’ll celebrate the end of that shame and what we’ll have then? I know I’ll have Twilight. The Twilight created by Lauren Faust I’ll have Nyx in all her glory. I’ll have the heritage of 2 Lauren Faust’s seasons. What will you have? Degraded M6, one-episode characters nowhere as good as Trixie or Iron Will so nobody cares about them. HiMMler that was forced during whole 6th season only to end up as a useless furniture without any role, and these “young six” nobody gives a shit about. And suddenly you’ll find yourself very lonely because there will be nothing to keep fans together as Lauren Faust’s M6 did.

I literally can’t deal with the Starlight hate anymore. God you people are unbearable with your complaining. Unsubscribing.

The humour is an appearance of intelligence. If they joke about comparing perfectly developed OC and an official character which ruined MLP they must be intellectually closer to crocodiles than to humans.

How they were written, and the quality of the stories they are in, is unrelated to the joke.

Because there’s logical explanation for her existanse. Not just like this slut Cadence who appears out of nowhere for nothing and has no role despite tens of hours of screen time.
 
Good character appears, acts and evolevs because of internal logic of the story and it’s personality. Not because “author wanted so”. Of course author’s will always exist but in good stories it remains unniticed. And with Nyx herself everything is correct (can’t say that about the whole story).

She’s associated with the antagonistic and obnoxious attitude of many of the people who post her on /mlp/. I’ve not read past sins, but I dislike her for her design - her colours stick out of the norm and are not fun or interesting to use. Completely subjective opinion but I’m not the only one that holds it.

True, that’s what made her more acceptable as an “Alicorn OC”, that there was a little less “OC” in this one than normal.
 
Of course, this very acceptance may have rubbed some people needlessly the wrong way.

 
Because people don’t understand the basic rules and methods of story-telling. Interesting thing with “Past Sins” that it uses 2 methods at once sequentially.
