My point was that TheMultiBrony seems to be implying that it’s more common for people in a romantic relationship to be “at each other’s throats” than not. Whether they’re right or wrong, this isn’t really reflected in MLP. Which makes the alleged rarity of romantic couples like Lyra and Bon Bon irrelevant.
 
I know they aren’t trying to claim that LyraBon can’t/won’t ever happen, they’re just expressing annoyance with people who say that it’s already canon. But nobody here tried to make that claim, and even if they had, I think the tone of the comment was unnecessarily harsh.

I think you’ve seen some toxic couples. Healthy couples usually aren’t at each other’s throats.

That seems a little anecdotal. And in any case, I don’t think the reality of how couples behave always has bearing on how writers want to depict them. We’ve seen canon couples that are more affectionate than Lyra & Bon Bon, and we’ve seen couples that are less affectionate.
 
As a side note, and this isn’t to sound rude, but I don’t remember too many instances in the show where couples have been “at each other’s throats” as you put it. Most of the couples in this show seem relatively at peace with each other.

To be specific, I don’t hate the ship in general, I just hate the people who believe it’s Canon and want everyone else to believe the same.

Well… Couples like that are very rare. Usually, most couples are at each others throats.
 
Let’s just say I’ve seen more best friends act like Lyra and Bon Bon than I have couples.
 
I also view Lyrabon as a overrated ship that needs to be sunk.
