Mostly on Twitter at the time. Given people were freaking out thinking the show was over, some tweets trying to calm people down. Twilight’s line at the end of the episode saying “Everything’s going to be okay!” was pointed to as being intended as a not-so-subtle addition specifically to let the (older) fans know the show’s not going anywhere just yet.
From the clip you linked I can see where the confusion came from. Larson wrote it as an ending but it was changed after he turned his final script in. So the intention was it to be the end, but before it got to air, it was changed as not to be.

Larson outright stated that it was initially planned to be the series finale
S3 wasn’t supposed to be the last. That was the feeling based on its reduced episode count, which put the show at exactly 65 episodes, the minimum required for syndication. It seemed logical (and scary.) But the real truth was the season was cut in half because DHX was working on the then-unannounced first EQG movie, so their time was split between the two and the result was fewer episodes.
They are at least hinting on it.
