The comics are a more official fanfiction then anything else(mind you, i like them but they have even among themselves contradictory stuff) so it would be more like that theatrical play where they cast a black woman as Hermione (and i think JK said that Hermione “could” be black in canon too after that… even though she helped pick the movie actors…).

They won’t stop until she gets another five parents or so.
It’s so heartbreaking, she supposedly has four parents and none of them show up to her fan club while Rainbow’s parents did. Even Twilight that has nothing to do with her took time off her royal duties to fly her there.
I’ll stick to her being orphan it hurts less.
What if instead they just make her an orphan and leave it at that

I wouldn’t say they acknowledge it. Ok, maybe with Parental Glideance a bit but it’s not like they dedicated an episode to Scoot having bad parents, it’s more of a side thing that kinda just is.
Then again, I haven’t watched The Washouts, so I don’t really know if that one does address it more directly. Maybe I should, it’s like the only episode of the second half of S8 that I actually care about besides the finale.
Some kids have terrible families, it’s a sad fact of life. It’s actually a good thing the show’s willing to acknowledge that.
I mean, it’s not as bad since at least in the comic, book, thingy, whatever, it already had a lot of implied stuff, instead of being “I swear guys he was always gay it’s not something I just made up 2 minutes ago”
