I think him being part of the “Sony Marvel Universe” (or whatever the hell what Sony is trying to set up with “Venom”, “Morbius” and “Silver and Black” is supposed to be called) is more likely.
Oh, I’m not saying it is part of the same Verse - but Sony wants to claim that there work is part of the MCU. Personally I don’t think it could, or should, tie together. xD
I don’t consider the Spider-Verse Peter Parker to be the same as the MCU Peter Parker.
Not only is he too old (MCU Spider-Man is still a teenager), but the MCU Spider-Man fell victim to the snap, so he obviously can’t participate in the events of “Spider-Verse”.
And he’s also supposed to be the same Peter Parker as we get to see in the MCU movies, according to Sony - they want their movie series to be set in the same multiverse as Marvel’s moneyspinners to try to draw in more audience members.
If they’re gonna do that much canon welding though, they’re gonna need something heavy duty to weld it with though - maybe they need to get hold of The Winter Solder?

The events of “Into the Spider-Verse” are the reason we never saw him in “Venom”.
