1st while not constant the average lunar month (Full to full) is about 29.5 days, not 45. 2nd the phrase is normally used to refer to months in the used calender regardless of actual basis. Thus ,assuming the same calender length etc., you should have 100/12 or 8.33 years.

Since the Beginning -

You did it wrong, the Moon orbits Earth every 28 days…
So, by that logic:
28*100=2800
2800/365=7.67123287…
They have a reunion every 7-8 years

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

Lol OP I don’t know where your info is coming from but a lunar cycle, the time between full moons, is approximately 30 days, not 45. That’s what “months” come from.

I doubt the ep1 gathering was a reunion. More like the relatives coming to the sun celebration crashing at AJ, as they probably do every year (Summer Sun being annual).

The Apple Family gathering in the first episode was for the summer sun celebration. They weren’t doing any of the crazy activities back then, they were just getting ready for the festival.

@Flutterpie20:

Not necessarily. Applejack clearly said that the Apple Family was only there for the Summer Sun Celebration in the first episode, and that it was the 1000th year anniversary that particular celebration.

Since it was being held in Ponyville that year and the Apple family reunion is ALSO held in Ponyville…

Well, if that’s not a reason to call a quick get-together, what IS?
Flutterpie20

If this is true then twilight would have been in ponyville for 12-13 years because in the first episode there was an apple family reunion was there not?

That is using earth terms. Not the world of Equestria where the sun and moon are manuel not automatic. Also assuming their days and years are the same. And what about distance, size and mass? There are thousands of different variables that need to be taken into account before an accurate date and time frame can be given.

Anyone else remember that the ENTIRE SHOW STARTED WITH AN APPLE FAMILY REUNION? Seriously, I’m taking the “100 moons= 1 pony year” and sticking with it.

you know people do use that as an expression to mean days past. So It might be 100 days.

I tend to assume that less than a year has passed.

Like with The Simpsons, no one is ever going to grow up or die of old age.

It is not used in the same terms as Earth “Moons”

Apple Family Reunion about every 2 years.
