Description

A full mock-up of two of the cards I made based on “School Raze,” with visual assistance provided by my improbable penpal Phil Srobeign.

Nice as the “Grixis rainbow” effect would be if these two were arranged the other way, I preferred having Tirek face Cozy.

I like how it’s “another commander”, not “your other commander”. Cozy Glow can give herself hexproof by stealing your opponent’s commander, if necessary.

Excellent designs! Both of these feel like cards that Wizards would really print, and that would see play.

Tirek is really on-theme for Rakdos, as well as on-theme for Tirek-ness. It’s a good thing Staff of Domination and Sword of the Paruns don’t have Partner.

Cozy Glow is amazing. Her ability’s powerful but well-balanced: she’s just 2/2, you lose the creatures she hijacks if you lose her, and a conditional Hexproof isn’t much of a defense. I’d partner her with Tymna the Weaver, but then, I really like White. There are probably more fruitful partnerships for her…

Such as the one you printed. Tirek handles the early-middle game, Cozy Glow deals with any ridiculousness in the late game… These cards make a lot of sense.
