It only looks like that if you’re being unreasonably harsh. Even if an episode includes one specific thing that fans are asking for, there are still numerous logical reasons that they might dislike it. The idea that they’re some sort of subsentient non-people that are just too dumb to have real preferences is vastly implausible, yet it’s often echoed by anti-critics regardless.

Yeah, things tend to make significantly less sense when you replace them with overly simplified versions for the sake of humor. Most people who ask for something, and then complain about it, usually have a specific reason. Just because the writers follow a simple request to the letter doesn’t mean they wrote flawlessly; the meme about “stupid bad fans who are too dumb to have coherent preferences” is a myth.

Personally I didn’t think the Trixie episode was very good and can see why Trixie fans would complain. That’s probably the last time she’ll show up and she wasn’t even acting like herself. Overly defensive fans are usually more annoying than complaining fans imo.
