Description
Ancient Chinese wisdom proves that people who say “Celestia is useless” are wrong!
From chapter 17 of the Tao Te Ching.
I’m not sure which translation this is from, but I changed the pronoun from “he” to “they”, which obviously works better for context, but is also more accurate to the non-gendered ancient Chinese.

Derpibooru celestia-ism is a joke.
I’m not sure I’m the right person you intended respond to.
No, no. I mean, they should be thought of as demigods, not that that they overpowered. They sorta are, though. Anyways, think about it. If Alicorns are the representation of the celestial bodies that are obviously needed to sustain life for everything on that planet…then they should be called gods. Are they? I mean…the show never says outright, but they certainly have expressions based on them in the same vein as a diety.
“Celestia-knows-where” is just the first example that comes to mind.
So, if the Sun and Moon, of which everything relies on to live, are a combination of three races. Then, by that extension, would other species not view those three races in a somewhat similiar light to the ponies powerful enough to bring night and day? And, therefore, thought of as the children of the gods, and NOT MORE TERRITORY TO CONTROL.
You know…can Celestia and Luna die? If so…what happens to the Sun and Moon? I like to think that they can be killed, but can only be killed by external threats. Age isn’t a concept they need to worry about. Every other Alicorn? Yeah. But, only because they are ‘artificial’. Not true blooded Alicorns. And, that any species stupid enough to attack their main source of life is truly not very smart.
I think I disagree on that. I don’t see anything in the cartoon that says that she is an effective leader. Most of the times, things are completely out of her control.
Then the [whatever attacker thing] explodes in a shower of blood and gore.
“Die horse!”
“Omae wa mou shindieru”
With the exception of the breezies, ponies are the smallest intelligent race in Equestria. The average pony appears to be quite shy and skittish as well. That, and their penchant for throwing parties at the drop of a hat, appears to have led the other races to think that cute little pastel ponies are pushovers.
They quickly learn the hard way that cute little pastel ponies are NOT pushovers. Not when their entire race wields magical powers the other races barely comprehend.
The same reason the Zulus thought they could beat the British in Africa…. Ignorance of enemy strength. Give them credit though, they had a few good early victories.
And the same reason the Barbarians kept attacking rome.
It’s all because you don’t think your opponent is your superior.

She has to be doing something right.
Well, a thousand years plus on the throne and Equestria hasn’t been conquered yet. Considering the nations and races surrounding them, I’d say Celestia’s had a pretty effective reign.
Damnit! thats the 1st thing i thought of when i saw this :D
Celestia: “Yes, if you make it look like an electrical thing. When you do things right, people won’t be sure you’ve done anything at all.”
