If Lightning Dust reappears for the last time in Season Nine, maybe she can “redeem” herself and reconcile with Rainbow Dash by using her skills and reckless nature to be a hero and save somepony instead of endangering them for once.

But that’s all be honest here at least we actually “did” get Lightning Dust back.
 
And just because she hasn’t got reformed yet like Starlight, Trixie, Sunset, Tempest, etc doesn’t mean she isn’t going to get a true redemption senario that she really deserves before G4 ends (Hopefully) and honestly I would rather Lightning go through a harsh but deserving reformation like Sunset did rather than a “(Slap on the wrist) don’t do that again” senario like a lot of recent characters.
