Sadly, horses only have a middle finger.
Celestia: That astrology 101 Twilight!
>>851301p (deleted)
The friction produced by the altered momentum would cause everything in the atmosphere to instantly burst into flame.
Unless Celestia the one to point out what she does.
If that weee true, Twilight and the Storm King would have utterly failed to move the sun when they tried, as they’d be targeting the wrong object, being under the impression that Celestia does move the sun.
Not to mention that it would be incredibly easy to tell if the planet stopped or started rotating instantaneously for any remotely familiar star-planet system. The Earth rotates at over 400 meters per second; if it suddenly stopped on a dime, everyone on the planet would be sent flying to their deaths, and similarly disastrous effects would happen from a planet’s angular velocity instantly accelerating the same amount from rest.

Celestia: Cause i already get some weird stuff for ponies thinking that I rotate the the sun around them and definitely don’t want to find out what they’ll do if they learn I moving planet around and preventing them from going all over the place… too late they already know.

We’ve seen the moon and the sun in the sky moving at changing rates relative to each other however, so at the very least Luna (or whoever is controlling the moon at a given time) must also be able to move the moon with respect to Equestria, even if they only move Equestria with respect to the sun.
Celestia wants to believe she controls the sun. In reality, she controls the world of Equestria and manually moves it around the sun.
It brings to mind the idea that everyone actually knows the heliocentric model is correct, but no one wants to contradict Celestia on it.
