It is repetitive but that is somewhat of a good thing.
If you have progression in a story it means the story will end.
If you have a show that’s formulaic everything can go back to normal by the end of the episode like The Simpsons and Family Guy they can go on for thousands of Seasons without really ever-changing.

They really need more variety.
