Probably because of the similarities between Megan and EqG Applejack.
I honestly think EqG Applejack was inspired by Megan do to their similar choice of clothes.
Just watched this episode earlier (the real G1 episode) and I got to say… It was amazing.
MLP: FiM might be great, but the intensity of just the G1 pilot was just wow.
