I know, I was saying it would work in a different way. It works both ways - the other way I was thinking about was that Squidward doesn’t notice it happening to one character, then another character gets the same treatment and he wakes up. Since it happened to Twilight first.
 
In the actual context of the Spongebob episode referenced, Squidward isn’t woken up because something more unusual happens later. The joke was it was a delayed reaction to something absurd. Spongebob broke into his home and asked to sleep in his bed and he went along with it because he was half asleep already, but he only gets <([{W0KE}])> when he askes for a glass of water.

Actually, pretty much no one cared about Spike getting wings and most even welcomed it, while Alicorn Twilight was met with a shitstorm the likes of this fandom has never seen before or since. That’s probably what this meme means.

Reverse this and it works in a different way just as well

nah every dragon in the show has wings, simple logic… twilight alicornation is fine, only one that pisses me off is Flurry Heart
