Applejack in that last panel looking like she’s baffled by Rainbow having her imaginary pregnancy end in imaginary miscarriage. Like, it was cute at first when they first slept together and she talked about wanting her foal inside her but she was getting ridiculous with it and Applejack wasn’t playing along. The things Rainbow does for attention.

I know, and I really don’t get it. It’s like a newbie found it and thought it was funny enough to revive. It is funny, at least in the spirit of the meme (which was jabbing at the sudden seriousness and defensive behavior of the artist) as opposed to this, which is just “zero context, same poses as Loss”

I literally read it right off the page on KYM. I’m not confused about anything. I don’t really see why a ten year old joke is still supposed to be funny, especially when it was already done to death a decade ago.

It’s ten years old and was mocked for being cartoony in presenting a serious subject, as well as a serious case of mood whiplash. The joke is parodying it. This doesn’t do that.

I had never even heard of Loss until about six months ago, and it’s not like I’ve been living under a rock. I had to look it up. The meme is older than FiM and if it was being regularly referenced before it was subtle enough as to not just be for the sake of literally reproducing the pointlessness of Loss.
 
The whole point for the meme is that anyone could make a more interesting comic using the same 4 poses. This…is a bunch of scenes of Applejack with no other related information. This IS Loss, not a parody of it. And I don’t subscribe to the theory of things being better by virtue of ponies.

It did die out. Loss is an old meme about a four panel piece that was universally panned as four panels showing nothing. A meme that, for a while, you could go several months without seeing.
