I think it’s the other way around.
From his dialogue, it sounds like he thinks he was too absent during her childhood and Starlight’s actions were the result of his negligence. Now he’s overcompensating in giving her attention.
Sunburt’s mom is the opposite. She thinks he become a neet because she was too lenient.
I don´t think so.
