There is not a single show transcript with those words in them.
It’s not headcanon, it’s canon. “Coltfriend and marefriend” have been used in the show always, even in the early seasons.

The fandom. Can’t really complain that the show didn’t follow headcanon, however common it is. Better anyway for the term to include non-pony males considering all the ships involving those.

It sort of makes sense, except for the “Non-Euclidean” part, unless you take that as a metaphor of society being complex like non-Euclidean geometry. Then it would be something like “Having a coltfriend in today’s complex, cowardly world is totally a stand against the new Anarchocapitalist reactionism. It’s great, dude!”
