To an extent it is… It Is PAINFULLY obvious that discord has a crush on fluttershy and that flutters has a bit of a crush on him i mean she may be his first friend but his protectiveness of her goes beyond simple friendship

Discoshy isn’t going to go canon because he doesn’t look like a pony. That seems like the most obvious reason. Plus Discord barely understands friendship, it would be weird to put him in a romance.

My point was that MLP doesn’t seem to do romance between the Mane Six, ignoring Equestia Girls, it seems to be going off of its own rules.

Ahhem perhaps you didnt know this but in the episode that debuted this intro maud got a boyfriend(mudbriar) so because of that tidbit your entire statement falls apart so yeah they do have romances especially since the episode that introduced sugar belle said specifically that big mac had a crush on her and also the fact that cadence and shining armor GOT MARRIED in the episodes that introduced them as characters also prety much any married couple in the show… And also the fact that maud said mudbriar is her boyfriend made that ship rock solid

This would seem to indicate that if they do break up in episode 10 (“The Break Up Breakdown”), it won’t take. Which I already expected.

FiM doesn’t seem to do romance between it’s main characters. That could change before show’s end, but for now that seems to be the law of the land. (Let’s not bring up EG, that’s it’s own beast)

so? ive seen main characters get together in cartoons, kim possible and ron stoppable is one and in raccos modern life Sheldon got with that cat lady with the hook hand jake and rose from American dragon(course that was in the series finally but it still counts) and plenty others. cant name them all cause I don’t remember them all but ive seen it done before. good god I’m old

There is always exceptions, my grandad met his wife and got married in 6 months, remained married until my grandma died. Besides, Bigmac for being coutry-ish folk most likely will get married fast.

On a similar note, it make me glad they waited until the start of Season 6 for Cadance and Shinning Armor to have a baby. Still a little early, depending on how much time has passes in universe between the end of 2 and the start of 6, but at least they didn’t have it happen before Season 4 like some people seemed to expect.

I certainly hope not. Personal pet peeve of mine is fiction rushing relationships for the sake of expectation/getting more stories out of them. They’ll have been together for less than two years by Season 9, that’s far too soon for a couple to get married.

They are in the freaking intro, I’m so happy right now. They are so perfect for each other.
