I had to go back and look at my gallery in a moment of “oh shit, do I?!?” I can’t say I see it though. It is a pose I use often to express shyness, cautiousness, sadness, remorse, etc. And I do draw Twi a lot… Maybe it’s that thing where you see just notice it more often than when I don’t do it?

And irl horses were far less flexable and far more expendable because they were easier to breed then the soldiers’s riding them.  
They didn’t need nor was it worth protecting them as well as the person trained to ride them, what with their training and rearing for it taking around three years pr less from birth to battlefield while Humans tended to not have steller birth rates and took far more effort to train.  
The ponies are the soldier’s, not the much more expendable mount in this situation.

Looks nice but like most show style armor thats about it.  
Still no leg protection, abdoman and all the vitals there are exposed as is the neck and 80%+ of the face.  
Like seriously, humans can get away with that because we have very different proportions, this is still glorified parade armor at this point.
