@Darkest Lunar Flower
I agree that character change too.
I have drawn lot of very obese creatures and tested different characters how they looks as fat. Some of them fit to that look, some not. Ponies are vital and cheerful creatures and cant be obese. If some of them are obese that meant worst healt issues (OC Cloudie Brilliant, especially her foalhood for example). If such Luna gain beyound the limit when overeweight significantly reduces her mobility and performance, she turns to a sad and diseased creature and that is not “soft, round and cute” any more.

Oh, I’m not talking a about slight changes slight little changes, like fluffy ears or colored pupils, and curved horns. Differences like that are little.
I forgot to add this to the comment…

“If making them round is something you find attractive then I cannot change that.”

End.

Rub my belly!
I like it, don’t see what the problem is. It’s kinda nice to see artists with more unique takes on the characters. I honestly prefer it over those that draw exactly like the show.

@Darkest Lunar Flower
I kinda disagree that drawing a character slightly different makes them “lose what makes them special.” A li’l uniqueness can actually make the art better.

And for that matter I have seen people draw “Whoa Nelly” thin, and nobody complain. For that matter, alot of chubby ponies get alot of upvotes too, like Mrs. Cake.

Her chubbynes are here intentional :D
I saw one of the mysticalpha’s comics and laughing hard, then i wondered, how will look Luna when she are thicker. Tags like ‘fat luna’ etc shows mostly oversized blue balls, so i need to draw one, who are significantly soft and round, but still graceful and can dance and prance. Result went surprisingly cute and beautiful and i draw her not only one time…

I understand Luna in healthy condition earn more upvotes and those who dislike chubby things push here downwotes.

@Background Pony #B2A2
Same.

1-If you gave them eyebrows it can help them have more natural facial expressions.

2-Cannon-I’m going to be honest if you stick to how the characters look it will definitely raise your upvotes.

For example: Luna is thin, in fact the base that is used for Luna’s body is one of the thinnest. It like drawing Woa Nelly skinny…

it changes what makes the character special.

You are already extremely good at shading and getting the muscles to look realistic. Using these tips can really benefit you as an artist.

I know that most of the bronies like cartoonish (head bigger than body, saucer-sized eyes) ponies far more than realistic ones.

And i will be rather bad on drawing the face expressions

You’ve got a great style for chubby ponies, imo. Would love to see more.

I’m conflicted, man. I really like the detail you put into your art, but at the same time something about the way you draw ponies is really unsettling to me.
