@AGM
That’s in the ideal world. In our real crapsack world, alcoholics will easily acquire bottles anytime, anywhere, law to be damned.

@background pony:
no, it’s not like beer, it doesn’t include hop or yeast.
And about “russian standards”-
it’s funny to hear someone judging something by his own stereotypes ^D. In Russia, you can’t buy anything stronger than 12% after 8 PM in general store, and moreover-selling strong drinks on Sundays and saturdays is totally restricted. You can buy and drink them only in a bar or restaurant.

it’s like “childrens beer”, yes? Very weak, especially by russian standards. I recall seeing this on an episode of Bizarre Foods I think.

@ ze: it’s not so easy to explain the taste of something, especially when ypu don’t know any things that it can be compared with. I heard that in Europe and USA even the taste of bread differs from what we have here, in Russia. Well… It doesn’t tastes like beer, because it’s rather sour than bitter, and (in most cases) has ho alcohol. I don’t know. And most of the new bottled, factory-made beverages called “kvass” are actually synthetic ones and doesn’t have any common with traditional kvass, that is produced on local beer factories or home-made.
