Kind of an oxymoron. Why there isn’t much fan-art of “interesting Applejack” “calm and rational Rarity.”

Actually, it’s some interesting foreshadowing. We learned later in “Read It and Weep” that Rainbow Dash is a closet egghead.
It’s from the competition sequence in “May the Best Win”, where Rainbow was testing the awesomeness, style, etcetera etcetera of a bunch of prospective pets to see if they matched her standards.
This is from the style competition, which took the form of a photo shoot where each animal seems to have picked a style and posed with Dash.
