and then there is getting into the more recent groups of creatures that were only just introduced in the Movie that came before Season 8: the Abyssinians and the “Parrots”/Arakkoa. We could have gotten us a fitting return of the G1 Character Katrina in kitty form, especially when this particular episode has part of its internal conflict stemming from the Students getting attacked by a group of Bushwoolies. Toss in a couple of Diamond Dog Pups, Zebra Fillies, Buffalo Calves, Parrot Chicks, maybe even give us Léon and Princess Erroria so we can FINALLY get some damn bit of information about Alicorns in-general that is not:

To be fair, G1 had to be a hard act to follow with it’s bizarre touches like singing ooze and monsters who use “rainbows of darkness”.

MLP first came into existence as a franchise in 1984.  
G1 ran from that time to sometime in the early 90s. Then G1.5 known as MLP Tales took hold.  
G2 Ponies was a complete flop, literally lasted only a year in the US.

This but Habro always rebooted MLP every decade (1980s G1 1990s G2 2000s G3 2010s G4).As much as i came to have only disdain for Hasbro this last decade but changing Generations every decade make sense from both a marketing and a practical point of view.You see,MLP is (initially) aimed at little girls from,let’s say,roughly,3 to 10 years old.Once they grow up,it make sense to reboot the franchise to capture the next generations of little girl so the audience dont have to watch a series in mid-airing

Fanon theory is while earth ponies are good at farming,pegasi at weather,and unicorns at magic,…fans seem to think crystal ponies are enchanters. I mean…look at the crystal heart…it’s basically a MASSIVE element of harmony.

Someone needs to make that shield pike is holding.

I didn’t have crystal ponies on the list simply because I’m not sure they aren’t just ponies with a form of regional magic flowing through them (all of the Mane 6 were crystal, briefly, and usually the crystal ponies aren’t very crystalline).
