There’s a difference between a Mary Sue and an escapist character. A Mary Sue is usually a void of insufferable perfection with no amount of practicality or nuance. Escapist characters are larger than life and likely out of the realm of plausibility, but they’re interesting enough or fun enough to be entertaining. Again, like Batman.

Thread Starter - Artists you miss.

I’m pretty sure a response or two to this would be that being angry a few times doesn’t change the fact that her personality did change drastically without a better transition.

For Rainbow Rock I could have seen her as a Mary Sueish character. It was as if they had just erased her former personality and her only flaw was only in her backstory of a completly different movie.
 
Glad they got a good mix of both afterwards.
