No. I understand why you and other artists use watermarks. I’ve even had my art stolen in the past myself. (I don’t know why. I don’t think my art is that great compared to other people.)
It’s just that these kind of watermarks get in the way of enjoying the picture for some people.

I hate saying this but I sort of feel the same way about adoptables. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve seen a lot of really well made and cute ones but in the back of my mind I keep thinking, “Why pay for a character when you can make your own for free?”
I’ve also seen some free adoptables. I’ve even engaged in a few. A lot of those cases involved people leaving a fandom but wanting their OCs to live on in some way, so they give their OCs away to friends for them to use. But like the example you mentioned earlier, a lot of those tend to have their own bios. They have their own personalities and designs already.
But I you do have a very good point. Sometimes a person might be struggling to make a character and might need a little inspiration so these adoptables have their uses. And they help the artist get money so it can be a win-win situation for both artist and buyer depending on the situation. I just figure that other types of commissions get that kind of stuff across better.
Adoptables can be good though, if they’re actually original, unique in some way, and preferably have more than just a visual design, such as a description of personality and perhaps backstory. You’re supposed to be fulfilling the creative process of making a likeable character for people that can’t/don’t want to. That’s how you make and sell an adoptable. Otherwise it’s just seen as a cheap minimal-effort cashgrab, which is why a lot of people see them as scams.
This meme will die, so will ponifications, everyone will move onto the next big meme soon enough, people anticipate this. Trying to make a character based on it is one thing, they aren’t serious or long-term, trying to sell a character based on it..
Basically, it’s no surprise nobody has purchased them.
just wanted to explain the watermark. i’ve had my arts stolen many times and i just want to avoid it happening again~
O..okay. ._.
I didn’t downvote and I could be wrong (I’m no mind reader or anything) but those are just my guesses as to why some people don’t like this image.
Auctions and advertisements are welcome on the site. If you just want to see “art and stuff”, add the appropriate tags to your filter.
Doesn’t make his comment any less valid. This is a dumb concept.@Sumi _mlp 1213
Probably because people come here to look at art and stiff, not shilling for someone’s crappy YCH auction.
:/
Okay.
Your comment is unrelated to the adopts, art or auction~
