Pretty soft for a Sony.
you guys mentioned Gilda, actually curious about her backstory, you would think that the Griffin population (do they have their own country?) were to be very proud and strong, but why would Gilda hang around ponies when they are physically weaker? Was Gilda bullied by other Griffins? Is she weaker than other Griffins?

^Family background is usually the real reason IMO. Even if on the surface they have everything, many of them in fact have incomplete social lives at home, (too little attention / too high expectations / past tragedy) and try to release their frustration by being cruel to others.

While there are some people who do the cycle of abuse bullying thing, it’s actually a myth that they are the majority.
 
Most bullies come from normal households, and grow up to be as socially well-adjusted as anyone else. Unless they’re put into a hierarchical environment that can encourage bullying behaviour.

I think Applebloom destroyed something of Diamond Tiara’s a long time ago (because she’s an impulsive klutz, not because of malice), and this whole “Blank Flank” thing and even the whole “foals who happen to be standing near Applebloom” is just rhetoric.
 
I’m sick of jealousy or pure evil being used as the sole reason when we could ping off the characters’ actual flaws.

I was reminded of how Norman Osborn (the Green Goblin) always considered his own son Harry to be pathetic and saw all the qualities he really wanted in a son in Peter Parker. Except here it would be the child and not the parent who would go crazy and sling bombs everywhere.
