Yes, it’s meant to take many, many years of your life to amass a fortune unless you strike gold and innovate in some department or another
lol 99% of The 1% were born that way, this is not a meritocracy.
Hi Prince, how are things going with Rarity?
What if sudden medical bills arise? What if you get into an accident? What if you end up with a speeding ticket? What if you get into an accident while doing all this? What if you get laid off because of corporate restructuring? What if the economy takes a sudden dive and lay offs like 2008 become the norm? What if your particular state’s economy is depressed?
What if you’re juggling school time through all of this so you can try to break the cycle you were born into because your parents weren’t degree-holding workers, and so you lived a existence generally on the line direct into poverty? What if your parents are divorced, and you don’t have the unified financial basis and stable social net of a whole family? What if perhaps one or the other was in prison for most of your youth? What if at some point in your youth there was any other accident that hindered the financial stability of the home, sapping that bit of funds that might be used for you to get a head start, an allowance of sorts; or even for college? What if you did go out to get relevant modern skill for it to all of a sudden not matter and despite having all the technical certifications needed you still can’t get a job in that field?
I mean, I’m sure I could keep adding to your list. It’s not terribly difficult when some of these apply to me or you know people who it applies to.
I’m sorry, but no, it’s not that simple. What if you’re physically or mentally disabled? What if you have a criminal record? What if you live in a town with expensive rent? You can’t just assume everyone is in the same state as you, that’s just naive.
Stop being poor.
First step, don’t get hit.
