If the show writers handle it right then it can be more mature while having some romantic plots as well. Sorta Anime/American style. You know… Korra but done right.
Well, you can’t police, or regulate the fanbase, and silence anyone who’s obnoxious. You can just ignore them. (Or have unbiased admins deal with them.) Every fanbase has that problem, but you can’t just declare war on bad fans, that’s ridiculous, and impossible.
I will admit, the R&M Mcdonald’s Mulan McNugget sauce incident was kinda too far, but also a bit funny in hindsight, seeing how it encouraged McDonald’s to bring the sauce back.
I’m not very into SU anymore, but I see some similarities. Especially, considering they’re both popular with older fans. Adventure Time, as well.
I wouldn’t want the series to be “too TVPG” personally. I kinda like seeing what the show gets away with in a Y-rating without being too kiddy. I don’t want it having too much random edge, or meta humor like “Adventure Time,” or too much ’ship teasing undertones like “Stephen Universe.” (Nothing against those shows, mind you.)
