I kinda think of how the shape shifter from Gravity Falls sees Diper and Mabel in “ Into the Bunker “. But I could always google it.
In real life, it wouldn’t. Squareish pupils like that are usually found on prey animals, and they’re normally horizontal, so they’re good at scanning horizontally for predators.
I guess that’s up to your headcanon lol. Perhaps the eyes can see very far away like an eagle’s eyes. Perhaps she can see infrared and a greater spectrum of light. Perhaps they can see better in the dark than normal eyes.

She’s an alien with a collection of alien organic designs. One of them is a design for eyes that are more efficient than your normal eyes. Sometimes she decides to use her more efficient eyes.
