I miss the days when we had weird but creative nonsense like that permeating the fandom.
I also remember that silly fic where Derpy’s screwed up speech pattern was explained as her having a friendly pet snake (a poisonous snake, to boot) who was always with her and only could understand what Derpy said if she talked like that, and she had been doing this for so long that everyone forgot that she could speak normally.
Most of Derpy’s fucked up word salads were just her constantly reminding her pet to not bite other ponies.
